Device Connection #
There are two options for connecting devices: Local (via USB cable) and Remote (via Device Farm).
This document provides a detailed explanation of the local connection option and guides you through the process of connecting Android and iOS devices to Stego.
- Device Connection Types
1. Local Connection: Connect devices directly to a PC using a USB cable.
2. Remote Connection: Connect devices remotely via the Device Farm. (please contact Apptest.ai to enable this feature.)
When using the local connection option, the process differs for Android and iOS devices.
Please follow the appropriate instructions based on your device’s operating system.
1. Pre-Setup #
Android #
The process of connecting an Android device to Stego is as follows:
- Enable Developer Mode on the device.
- Connect the device to Stego.
This process only needs to be completed once when connecting the device for the first time.
The device can be connected and used without any additional setup.
Enabling Developer Mode on the Device #

- Connect the device to the PC using a USB cable.
- Enabling Developer Mode
- On your device, go to Settings > About > Software information.
- Tap the Build number field five times in a row to enable Developer Mode.

- Enabling USB Debugging
- Go to the activated Developer Options menu and enable USB Debugging.

If a pop-up asking to allow USB debugging appears, check “Always allow from this computer” and select “Allow.”
- Make sure the “Verify apps over USB” option in the Developer Options menu is turned off.
If this option is enabled, the device may fail to connect to Stego, so please be aware.
iOS (Premium Users Only) #
According to Apple’s policy, a Mac is required to control iOS devices using external programs.
Additionally, a few initial setup steps are necessary to successfully connect Stego with an iOS device.
Provide Your Email Address #
Please provide Apptest.ai with the email address to be used for the developer account.
Apptest.ai will send an invitation to that email address for creating an Apple Developer account.
Once you receive the invitation, follow the registration process to complete the setup.
Setting up an iOS device may seem complex at first, but it only needs to be done once during the initial connection.
After that, you can connect and use the device without any further configuration.

When you are invited as a member of the Apple Developer team, it will be displayed as shown above.
Providing the Device’s Unique Device Identifier (UDID) #

You need to provide the device’s UDID to Apptest.ai.
This information is required to register the device with an Apple Developer account.
- How to Find the UDID
1. Connect your iOS device to a Mac using a USB cable.
2. Open Finder on the Mac.
3. In the sidebar, select the connected device.
4. Under the General tab, you can view the device information.
5. Click the text next to Serial Number, and it will change to the UDID.
6. Right-click on the UDID and select Copy.

Once you have copied the device’s UDID, please submit it to Apptest.ai to complete the registration process.
